Hey Chaps,

Finally had a chance to get my Defender 90 off road properly at Mud Monsters.

It was a lot of fun and the Defender is very capable though was slightly embarrasing having to be rescued by SJs far more frequently than id like...

The whole day just made me love my Land Rover even more! Though did damage it a little, went straight into a tree bent my bumper into my right wing and made a big dent in the passanger door! Time for more chequer plate I think!

Got the front wheel stuck in a 4ft deep clay hole and the rear wheels in a 2ft deep one. A very serious 90 bobtail rescued me though.


First time out so still learning how to properly drive off road, pretty sure I was going too fast sometimes, though I found going slower at some points caused me to either get stuck or not able to get over certain obsticals.

Deffinatley going to go a hell of a lot more, supprisingly cheap aswell. The drive there, back and the day from 1 -7 used around £10 worth of fuel.

Though need breathers and ECU moving!

u need to get to grips with low box 2nd gear,its your best friend

Spent the whole day in low most of it in second. Was really suprised on what it can do at basically standard

Looks like you had fun mate!

But pleaseeeeeee get yourself a proper recovery strop, that will do more damage than good when it breaks, it's not designed to pull out of mud just some advice

Was a great day.

I know the rope wasnt the best, just all I had to use at the time, though did bloody well!

At one point I was stuck in a rut (see 1st pic) rear was jammed on a tree, front was half stuck on another tree. Only way out was a hefty tug to the left - My rope to a Range Rover Classic - Disco - Disco to pull me out!

Used that rope around 10 times in the day got me out without showing damage or danger signs (is rated to 4T). So did the trick but when Ive got some more cash will get a proper one.

what tyres you got on there?? they look fairly standard. would say get some all terrains or mud terrains if they are not. but looks tidy defo get chequer plate on lol

Not standard, they are Cooper Discoverer STTs.

My plan after getting a winch and winch bumper is to get a set of black steel wheels and insa sahara turbo special track muds. Drive around on the STTs and changr to the muds when on site.

They are 2 completely different tyres mate, Sahara are a normal mud and special track is a extreme open block mud tyre.
