your not shoving it in all the way, are you?

is there a fix for it?

practise makes perfect ..
withdraw somewhat 'n go easy on the trigger

use a different pump next time ..

use a fuel supply that includes an anti-foaming agent ..

You only have to just put the nozzles in only just and fill as normal I haven't had any splash back yet.

Td4 2005 face lift model.

That's why there are little ridges on the underside of the nozzles - so you can have it inserted varying amounts, without it falling back out.

Its easy to have trouble at first. As suggested the answer is not insert it fully. Watch for a notch on the filler that works well when inserted that amount.
On our first Freelander, a V6, it took an age to fill until we got the hang of it.

I always get it wrong with some clicks ...a little adjustment with the nozzle and then its fine every time - :)
