If you do choose make sure you set aside some cash for repairs. You may be fortunate and the car will provide many thousands of miles service, but on the other hand...
I've had this debate with my mates at the pub. Do I buy a brand new vehicle at say £35K OR do I buy a Disco 2 V8 for about 10 - 15K and set aside £20K for repairs over a 10 year period??
Obviously I can't afford either option at the mo, but food for thought. £20K would buy plenty of spares if necessary including a brand new engine / gearbox if required!!
I had the use of a V6 for a couple of years and drove it all the way to Greece and back from the UK. Only complaint is the 200 miles (ish) to a tank - had to refuel about 8 times where as I can do it on 3.5 / 4 in a disco diesel!!

Steve
