It wunt come on unless yer injun is gettin a bit hot. Sure yer got it hot enuff for it ter come on?
Bad air lock??
Try bleeding the 8mm nut on the steal pipe at the left hand side of the engine/ air box or unscrew the temp sensor a little to make sure there is water there! and not a lovely big air bubble.
also have a look at Rover, Land Rover, Range Rover and MG, Warning - K Series coolant fan relay

If she comes on when disconnected then the wiring and sensor are fine.
