just gone out to it to move it out of drive ready for morning, started first turn drove it out,got out and left it running while i closed gates before i got back to it it had stalled/stopped,now it wont start battery dying tried jumping it and nothing, cranks over and tries to fire but just wont catch,my asumption is the becm needs resyncing unless anyone has any other ideas,
so i am on the beg for a sync mate or similar in exchange for beer tokens i could take it down to our local stealers but i am loathed to give them my hard earned if you know what i mean,

cheers in advance.

Gareth

No none, ive just had the charger on the battery for the last half hour and its cranking over like a good un,the glow plug light comes on as normal as dos the eml/squirty injector thing.it is trying to fire but just wont catch.
i am going to try bleeding it in morning although it has a full tank of diesel and has been running fine all day,

well that throws a spanner in works then,i was kind of hoping it would be somthing simple like the becm, looks like i am going to be busy getting dirty again for the next couple of days

Usually with a lockout, the glow plug and EML are not lit. DEoes the glow plug lamp go out after a few seconds??
Obviously make sure that fuel is getting to the injectors for starters.

glow plug light go,s out as normal,i will try fuel in morning, just seems strange why it just stopped and now refuses to start.

is there any strong fuel smells, just wondering if any of the leak off pipes has split.

ive had a good look round but its lashing down now and i am getting stressed with it,i will start again in morning with it after ive rung work to tell them i wont be in because i am really poorly:hysterically_laughi

Well, bit of an update, tried all the usual suspects fuses, relays etc.getting fuel to filter and from filter to pump and pump to injectors.thought i would put a new filter on just as a last resort when i drained the old one off i noticed the diesel looked clearer than usual, turns out its water:eek::eek:.
i am now on my way to garage where i filled up on saturday to get myself arrested:mad::mad:,either myself or swmbo will keep you updated.

Gareth

The garage will probably try and say "Prove you bought it from here, how do we know it's out of our tank"....typical

Funnily enough thats exactly what he said, but after casting doubt on his parentage and berateing him nearly to tears he did admit they have had 2 other drivers in with problems (wouldnt say what problem)and they had isolated a diesel tank,he will contact me when the tank has been sampled in the next couple of days.
i put just over 45 litres in to brim it,i wonder if i put a live to the fuel pump would it draw the water of the the bottom of tank,if i remove 50 litres i should get it all.the theory is if i leave it until tommorow its then had 36 hours to separate and settle in bottom of tank,
Any thoughts,

Gareth
