A bit of an anorak question but what's your preferred steering wheel on a landy?

I know the old series landys had the very thin steering wheel which is quite quaint, defender drivers like to swap for a smaller wheel for more room, and the modern discos & RRs etc have big thick chunky wheels with all kinds of buttons on them.

My disco has got this kind, and I'd never really given it a second thought...

However having driven a defender recently with one of these, they seem infinitely more ergonomic, and much better off road:

Less padding on the Defender item should you attack it with your bonce in a collision.

If I could get the single-spoke off the XM to fit, I would.

and have an airbag installed which makes swapping the wheel for a different design very hard to do :(

Having said that, my D2 steering wheel feels OK even if it's not the best looking design.

Mine is like this
but it runs out of line
The last time i tried to get it off it wouldnt shift
Its on my ToDo list to try harder

Before I bought mine I was wondering whether I'd like to fit a smaller wheel like a lot of folks on here. But since buying it nearly two years ago I've never really felt the urge to do so as the standard one is surprisingly comfortable. If I drive in excess of 500 miles a day my fingers go numb but I don't think that's down to the wheel size.

mine was necessity, I wanted some other seats in there, and the ones I got fitted niceley, but couldn't get me legs under the wheel.
