Got a non functioning fuel gauge.
Is that an MOT failure?
MOT is on Monday so deciding weather I spend tomorrow fixing it or just go to the pub.

They don't test things like that.

Go the pub… less hassle & you know you will disturb something else & all the light won’t work.
(If your worried just gaffer tape over it, what they can’t see they can’t test)

They could only test it by putting fuel in.. they can't and wouldn't do that

As long as there is enough fuel for the tester to complete the test, fuel is not seen to be leaking, and the filler cap is secure - then all is good.
