Hi long shot i know but does anyone have a fault reader they could help me out with i live in the Croydon area, my disco wont start it was running fine at the weekend its had the xyz switch refurbed and was fine now it just wont start, thanks.

Maybe you do not need a fault code reader.

When you say it will not start , what exactly is the issue? Does it turn over?

Cheers

Hi neilly its an auto and it doesnt turn over i just need to know if its the starter inhibitor switch (xyz switch) again or not before i go and spend £450 on a new one.

OK,

Just the td5 has an issue with the starter motor solenoid contacts, which is what I would check first or the lucar connector on it, which are an easy fix, but if you insist it is the xyz switch then so be it.

Cheers

No im open to any help mate im praying its not the xyz switch , where do i find the lucar connector ?

The little wire that goes to the starter motor, it is a spade connector , If you can check to see if you have 12V there when you turn the key, it is notorious for coming loose/ getting dirty. If you do get 12V, does the starter click when you turn the key?

Cheers

Plus, what is written above, I assume the immobiliser is not on................

It is a TD5 isnt it????? You have not said.

Cheers

If you dont have the M+S lights flashing it's certainly not the switch but if you do it's certainly not the starter ;)
