posted prevously regarding changing the battery in my 2003 4.4v8, after changing the battery all sorts of messages started being displayed on the info screen mounted in the dash.first of all the passenger door central locking unit falled it will not either lock or open with the key fob all other doors will open and lock.then the air suspension inactive message appears on start up after driving a few yards it disappears, on idle it displays select neutral and slow down and continues to display the two arrow buttons either side of display, also three audible chimes sound whilst driving with no message.all this has just started ive had three years of trouble free driving until now all after changing the battery can someone provide some sort of explaination or remedy it would be gladly received...

the earth lead from the body to the battery seems ok the battery was a brand new like for like change over ,the guy that changed it for me stated he kept power to the car during change so as not to loose radio codes etc..would this of cause any related problem

Hi. I had similar faults on my 2003 HSE after a battery change. I too used a donor battery to save radio codes etc but had loads of faults after. It appears I was being too clever and the brief 24 V connection upset the electrics. I was advised to disconnect the battery for 15mins and then reconnect. Most of the problems were then solved apart from the airbag light which had to be reset by the dealer.
Hope you get it sorted.

Putting two batteries in parallel doesn't give you 24V, only the higher voltage of the two and then only 'till they've equalised.
I've still no idea though as to why these 'faults' appear when the battery is changed in this way unless there's an iffy connection when using croc clips etc?
