Hi, I have a 1998 freelander 2.0 turbo diesel L type. I have read that you can download rave software to access the ecu. If this is so what lead do I need to connect to a laptop? Where can I get it? Has anyone done this successfully?
Thanx

No,

The Rave software is only the LandRover Manual for the vehicle

The Software for reading the codes is about £25,000

if you want to be able to read all the codes, from the main computer, abs, security, auto etc, then look for a hawkeye by bearmach.

Elm reader on a laptop works well wiff a td4 not sure about the series injun . . .

How much did you pay for yours ?

Nothing, it was given to me by my local garage, its a trolley system with printer and a microcheck unit for pre '95 cars, the OS on the laptop was corrupted so rebuilt that and once i had made my cables it all worked perfectly :D

You were lucky,I paid nearly £11k with the vat for mine back in 2003.I was one of the first indies to buy it back when the EU block exemption rules forced the manufactures to offer it to anyone.
I did score a T1 with it though, and I was given another T1 a couple of years ago - they are OK,just very slow.
The T4 is alot cheaper now though,I need to get a replacement price to go with all the rest of my kit to make sure the "Sum insured" is up to spec.
