As many of you legacy landyzoners may remember,my P38, one of my classics and my mum's P38. my P38 the blue one went a couple of years ago, as did the classic. mum passed away in end of 2021 and the my stepfather has kept hold of the silver P38.

hower, its got a couple of faults, the gear box control is delayed on shift, it had a replacement gearbox a couple of years ago, checked the cable, it shifts through all the gears with no splippage, oil and filter have been done, so determined an issue through the BECM again dry joints. the winscreen wipers are not working and its had a new motor, the stalk switch works so again suspect dry joints on the BECM and the EAS needs a check over, new pump pump and valve block, if i recall i put Arnott Gen2 bags on it a few years ago. so talking with @biketeacherdave we reckon the faults could be down to dry joints on BECM. but honestly i dont have the time or space to be dealing with it, could pull the bECM and send it to @rickthepick but again, dont have the time to deal with it so looking to sell it on to someone that will take care of it and not just scrap it.

its got the upgraded leather interior, BRC LPG installed by capital autogas my mum had installed. got reams of records, its in daily use and MOT'd till september, engine runs as it should for a 4.6 Thor engine as it did when it left the factory. to be honest its an awesome car, and will be a great candidate for someone to sort and carry on with. its the silver one.

i still have my 4.2SC and running fine. its sad but its the end of an era and happier days.

let me know if interest.

I can honestly say it's 1 of the best iv ever seen and I think I'm right it's got a PlayStation fitted in the rear as well if memory serves me right. If only we had a huge barn to keep them all on they would all stay.
Yes it does. It's such a shame to see it go and would work out something for an LZer. As you know Davei just don't have the hours in the day.

I'd be checking voltage at the gearbox ECU pins and thinking of earth points rather than BECM.

Nice looking motor. Pity my job and career fell off the rails last year or I'd have been sorely tempted. Mind you, the wife would have freaked at a third in the garden.

Honestly, I don't have the time, single dad life, cars, bikes and its my stepfather's so I just don't have the time to load up tools, go over and start. It's quite likely exactly tgat.

Sadly, there are no LPG filling stations round here any more.

No, another missed opportunity. Mind you, there are no charge points, no hydrogen fill points and not enough green generation of either for projected vehicles and pretty soon firms are going to realise work from home doesn't work long term.

Woking from home depends on the character of the individual, some work harder than normal to prove they can be trusted, others don't give a feck and do as little as possible, I had 5 home workers that were very successful and a couple who were not.

My last two roles (7yrs and 13 yrs were both "based from home" but also required on-site customer visits (c. 36k miles /yr). It was a fairly senior tech role and I worked >12hrs a day most days (no distractions, shorter tea/lunch breaks).
e.g Leave home @ 04:30 to attend a customer meeting in York for 09:00. Ended up with a heart-attack because I was working too hard and was too stressed (a bit of "imposter syndrome" I reckon). The money was great but the toll it took was a bit too much. Glad to be out of it all. :D

None here anymore either. I think I'm going to remove my LPG gear this summer when I get an afternoon free. I managed 90,000 trouble free miles on it since installing it, but I don't think there's any point in carting around a heavy tank and all the other bits and bobs on the off chance I'm driving past Addlestone and can fill up!

Mind you, I work from home now and so I don't drive so many miles either!

You need to get friendly with the hot air balloonists at the Blackhorse pub :vb-biggrin:
they all used to run disco`s on lpg:)

You can just fill.up from an lpg tank I can still get it if I'm near a friends house it's not worth the round trip just for lpg.
By next year I think it's pretty much fazed out as road fuel so I mite remove my lpg tank as well shame as I only got it working properly last year

I know you can buy a hand LPG pump and just connect up to Calor gas cylinders to fill up that way….. but can you be arsed?

More stuff hanging around you have to look after!

The UK seem to have given up on the LPG experiment.

Just found a garage that stocks it near parent's house in Ferndown. Might bring the Blue P38 next week & put some in, just to see if it still works !! No use long term, because both parents gone & house to be sold soon.

Not entirely what I meant. Like Dan I was home-based for 13 years but went out on client site until the lockdown. A lot comes out when you work in an office together that doesn't come out online. Plus, the youngsters in the office (or at home) don't get the chance to learn all your little tricks so their development suffers and overall the company becomes less efficient over time. A mix works but I see places trying it 100%.
