I would be up for Kent.

Will post a photo of the satellite route of the Berwick alfriston lane later, I drove it. Few months back and was clear

I did the route from Firle to Alfriston, it was clear with few branches. I couldn't find the link from The Furlongs to Newelm just before Firle.
I walked through the field past the barn but couldn't see a route suitable for a vehicle.
Any ideas ?

Also, is the route from The Lay to Beddingham Hill ok ? Is it wide enough to turn round at the top of the hill where it transitions to the Pathway ?

On Saturday I took a friend for a drive along the lane from the Berwick end heading for Firle. The section where the trees "rattled the roof rack" turned out to be very interesting as a large tree has fallen over and now crosses the lane. Someone has chainsawed the limbs but the main trunk is still low. The Defender + roof rack was too high to go under. So, the only option was to take it off mid-lane, carry it past the tree and then put it back on again.... 4 groups of walkers came along who found our predicament quite entertaining; but pleasant with it....As others remind us about "Laning" - always be prepared. The spanner and socket set which I put in "just in case" got us out of a very awkward problem as reversing back up the lane would have been really difficult and no possibility to U turn.
Still, no one got hurt, a great first time Laning experience for my good friend and we have another good story for the pub....

IMG_1106.JPG it wasn't going to go under ....
IMG_1107.JPG roof rack off, carry past the tree, roof rack on. Thanks Phil and Alex for the help.

I've started taking my roofrack off since I nearly ripped it off the other day.
Sorry I haven't been in touch, snowed under, but haven't forgotten.

Theres a few folks who go laning in Kent, we do days out from time to time. Haven't done pilgrims way for a while now so maybe get something arranged soon.

I took the family along to True Grip 4x4 experience in Kent today and had a great time.
We had a bespoke package with my son, my wife and myself having an hour each in one of their vehicles (we forgive them for having a Toyota hilux) and then I had an hour with the instructor taking the Defender round.
I read how awesome the Defender is but was blown away by how it handled up and down the 45deg + slopes. 1st gear low range and just over tick over throttle and it climbed everything. The pictures don't do it justice but have to share some.
If you want some 1:1 training / experience on 4x4s, I can highly recommend True Grip 4x4. Our instructor, Dave, was awesome.

been driving all these lanes again during covid, couple of TRO on some now for repair work, and of course most of them close over winter.
The Lay to Beddingham Hill has a permanent TRO so dont drive it. The PRO was put on in the 1970's!
