Can anyone advise how to release this cable from the spigot on the fan speed control lever please?
How did you do it? And for me - how did you reconnect them as I can’t get the metal clips back on!Can anyone advise how to release this cable from the spigot on the fan speed control lever please?
I’ve not done it yet as still trying to get info on how to do it without damaging / breaking anything ! when I have found out how to do / done it I’ll post it up here for youHow did you do it? And for me - how did you reconnect them as I can’t get the metal clips back on!
I am trying to change the wiper motor which has meant taking the heater fan controls out - faff!
Pull your neck in ‘mate’ - I’ve got 1001 other things on the go so I’ll get round to this when I want & it’s got nothing to do with ‘a difficulty level’ !Mate, the answer is "you can't ..."
You have to pull the cable through the bulkhead. It's really easy, difficulty out of 10 = less than 1.
You were asking about this in January.
It doesn't take 6 months of cogitation.
It's a 5 minute job, the hardest part is figuring out which cable is which and remembering to mark the cables at the heater end.
If it’s nothing to do with difficulty level, why did you ask in the first place ?? Welcome to LZ by the wayPull your neck in ‘mate’ - I’ve got 1001 other things on the go so I’ll get round to this when I want & it’s got nothing to do with ‘a difficulty level’ !
You can't, well you can, but not at the binnacle end, you disconnect it from the heater .... it controls the flap that lets the air in.
Fully up it's closed, half down it opens the flap in the heater, 3/4 its slow fan assist and all down it's full.

If you follow cable 13 onto the bracket you will see a nut & screw. This clamps the cable in place. Same sort of design on the heater box to remove.Hi Dag019, thanks for your reply and input to my query, including posting the exploded diagram which is very useful.
Cable 3 does not have this? How does this attach. If you follow cable 13 onto the bracket you will see a nut & screw. This clamps the cable in place. Same sort of design on the heater box to remove.

That does not look like a screw clamp. And pulling the spare I have out to clean it up
Will look the weekend at mine. At least you still have the green cable clamp, most fly offThat does not look like a screw clamp. And pulling the spare I have out to clean it up
It looks like a post a ring sits on. I am unconvinced the cable currently fitted is correct. Does this look right? It certainly
Doesn’t come off easily.
