The steps are great anyway. I can get in the flippin thing without looking like I've just had a hip replacement. Just quickly on another matter, I'm going to do the rubber tube on my engine myself. Is it called the return intaker? I've typed in rubber tubing on google and ebay and there's loads of different types.

Start using the parts websites ,( http://new.lrcat.com/ ) that display pictures of the vehicile engines etc, then you can hunt down the part you need, order the right part and save yourself a world of hurt.

Cheers

+1 - one of the reasons land rovers stop leaking is that there is none left in   - hopefully not the case here ... but I'd be checking the levels all the same :)

So, two jobs then ... All oil levels, and an exhaust bobbin ;)

At the risk of causing a storm, don't bother with waxoyl - use Dinitrol or Bilt Hamber - do a search ( if it's working  ) ... certainly looks tidy underneath :)

And, as above, get yourself some tools .... £140 quid for that job is a bit steep in my book too.
Yeah I'd written it down when you said last time. He said he'd use dinatrol. Exhaust bobbin. Got that down too now. Cheers for that.

Wow. Perfect. Cheers. It's not giving me the exploded view pic so I know what it is in the list. Cheers. Was looking in engine parts and not heating and coolling pipe

could you lend me £500 till I get paid?
Hahahahaha. I get it. Soft touch and money to burn (which I definitely haven't). But is BACS alright? Paypal's a rip off. I sold a piano last week. They took a hundred and odd quid off me!!!

Got it. It['s the hose (2) from the camshaft side cover to the rocker cover ... actually it might be breather hose from cylinder block ...

Great lesson. Will defo do my own searching now, but just wanna check. Is this it?

It's not hard to see how they could charge for 2 hours. There may be a minimum charge of 1 hour, and a book rate of 1 hour per side for fitting a step. Chalk it down to experience, but I don't think they were ripping you off. If you don't have a rivnut setting tool, or the bits required to make one, you can't fit it as per the instructions.

Need to change the tie wrap for an exhaust rubber. ;)
Looks a tidy motor underneath.

Just think how long it would take you to fit? Do you think it was value for money?

This is why most LR owners do/attempt most jobs
Just ordering on ebay now. Is it one of these or a rubber thing? (pic 2) or something on pic 3
