Thanks for replies on smartening up eyebrows - lots of ideas, it seems as if a lot of different things will work. So, I've a new tin of smooth black hammerite in the garage and I've decided to use that.

Just wanted to check in case it's a big no-no for some reason unknown to me.

Only thing I can think of is it might crack and/or flake as the plastic is quite flexible. Hammerite's designed for use on metal isn't it?

Yes, I thouhgt that might be a possibility which is why I asked the question - maybe I'll just get a tin of matt black paint from Halfords and spray them.

Try Plasticote paint (from local B&Q or similar) designed for use on Plastic! so should be more flexible

If you're going to use Hammerite your best bet is just to paint a very little patch on the plastic somewhere that it can't really be seen (underisde perhaps), just to see how it reacts. Hammerite is full of wierd stuff that lets it bond straight to rust (I think it cures rust too) and it may ruin the plastic i.e. bubbles / melting etc.

To make them look dark and renewed your best bet is really something as simple as Johnsons baby oil, or something cheaper like Asda's own brand. Waxoyl has certainly got it for longevity but it has a couple of disadvantages

Vitara is great for the long motorway runs, car like driving with full time 4x4 for when the weather turns bad. Fuel is about the same as the Tdi so only gain in the confort front.

i know it a late reply but you can get flexable paint for inflatable boats
that works great

i have done mine in smooth hamerite i painted it on first with a brush then while wet went over with a spoonge looks very good when dry been on 12 months still hasent cracked

I use MER exterior gel, brings them up like new. costs about 5 quid from Halfrauds. It comes in a blue bottle and is a green gel.
I use it for the dash, doors, in fact all plastics. very pleased with it.
