Ey up!

Thought I'd introduce myself seen as I finally have a Defender. The names Matt, based out of North Yorkshire (in case you hadn't guessed).

A few weeks ago I bought a 58 plate 90 from a mate I used to work with, and so far I'm loving it, but not as much as the wife it turns out, as she's commandeered it. I have many many questions about it, as it ain't like anything else I've owned before, but they can wait for now.

I've got a few plans for it, so I'm sure this is the place to be kept on track.

Not sure how keen I am on the wheels...

If that was mine, the wheels and the aftermarket grille would be sold fairly quickly, and replaced with standard items.

Whats the best method for security? After market immobiliser or pedal locks?

Probably both.

But the best method of all is to keep it in a garage, or parked, at the back of a driveway, with another car with an alarm and the steering lock on parked in front of it.

In the grand scheme of defenders I bet you'd be surprised what I paid for it, not cheap I'll grant you that, but cheaper than most.

Its already been up through the North Yorks Moors national park for a weekend
