Hi all, I am Extinct over at the landroverforums.com (largely US based forum). I have been a member here for a while so I could browse post but I finally have some information to share so thought I would introduce myself and ask if it is ok to do a semi-cross post.

I am a D2 guy, have/had 17 so far, all V8's as that is all we really see in the US. Over the years I have developed a solution to the dreaded thermostat issue common on these that we call the inline thermostat mod. Recently got it to the point where I could offer kits to members and made an "official" post over on our forums. I thought I might post it here so users here could benefit from the information. Probably not practical to ship individual kits, but I have contacted Rimmer Bros. and Brit Part and a few others to offer for them to carry the kit so you guys could get it more easily.

Anyway, not sure who to check with re: forum moderators but maybe someone could point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Tim aka Extinct

Welcome to LandyZone :)

I have brought your post to the attention of the forum mods. I'm sure they will be in touch soon.

Sharing information is always welcome but we have a minimum post count for general sales and don't allow business advertising so welcome to LZ but kindly be aware you may be walking a fine line.

Right, of course, don't want to wind up on the wrong side of the line. I could of course do basically the same post as I did on the US forums without the references to where to get the bits, but it might be a bit frustrating for the forum members if they cannot get the bits. Did not see anywhere where I could be a paid advertiser to support the forum, so I am not quite sure how to proceed. Not sure it would even be appropriate if the members can't implement. Would it be appropriate to do a simple cross post and point to the thread on the US forum?

The issue for us with paid advertising is LZ then gets associated with products over which we have no control.

Go ahead and post a link and the V8 petrol heads can give it a ponder.

LZ reviews can be robust in nature :)

Got any pics of your kit, other universal thermo kits have been available for years.
Just saying.
Welcome back to Lz :)
