I have recently bought a RR Vogue supercharged, 55 plate, 105000., I'm looking to purchase extended warranty insurance but the T & C's from Warranty Direct and Auto Direct look like they try anything not to pay out or stipulate two services a year etc. Has shone any advice or recommendations please. I'm a new RR owner. Regards.

Any warranty isnt worth the paper it is written on, main dealer warranties are just about passable third party companies are not in business to safeguard you only their shareholders.

Best just squirrel money away into a savings account for the inevitable!

+1 on that.

Unless they will cover everything including all electrical components such as ecu,s and becm,s
Air suspension
Then stay away.
Other wise make close friends with a good landrover mechanic

Most warranties will not cover wear and tear, but the majority of faults will fall under that category so uncovered. It has to be a recognised defect to be covered and it'll take so long to prove that/go through the leg work you'll be months without your vehicle. Don't waste your money with them.

My wife had an unlimited mileage warranty with her car, the steering failed and they said... wait for it......

Due to the mileage it couldnt be claimed under the warranty.

As with most modern cars, once they are out of the makers warranty you are on your own.Either accept large bills when they arrive or downsize to car you can afford thats in its original warranty....

I had one from warranty direct on my discovery had fault with heated rear window not working they would pay out also most garages will not do work for them all the ones I spoke to said they would never pay out

Extended warranty companies will not pay out for wear and tear. They will also get a cut from the garages they insist does the servicing to validate the warranty no doubt. As 99.99% of problems can be in one way or another written off as wear and tear. Afraid it's not something i would consider. They make money for old rope in my view.

Based on (past) personal experience I endorse the advice you been given. First the warranty co. will try the 'wear & tear' ploy & even if they do pay out many workshops don't want to carry out the work because the warranty co will only pay 'their' idea of labour rates, which is often lower the the garage's set figure. Over the years I had two different cars covered & out of a total of four claims only one was honoured & even that wasn't for the full cost, due to the labour cost shortfall. Buy yourself a piggy-bank & keep it well fed
