Unfinished project needing a bit of completion can be good route to something extreme! The trouble being you would have to spend double that to acheive the same speck landy

TC, do you not think that buying something like that is a bit of a lottery?
You don't really know how the previous owner has driven it? all the internals would be worn and weaker if driven hard as its been built to do.

It is but could also have been well looked after,
Its worth what someone is willing to pay, a well spec challenge truck in used condition is worth in my option 6-7k with lockers and winches ect Newley built ones are fetching double that

like I said earlier, it needs poking in the flesh.
yer cant tell stuff like that from pictures.
and even then, it can still be a lottery
totally un-applicable, but I have a mate called andy.....
(an this were 2 year back, so not staged for you )
have a good time
It was built approx 2000-miles ago according to the owner and has been used as an off-road play thing and as a local runabout. The MOT has expired but the guy will have a new one put on prior to the purchase.
The underneath is in super condition by all accounts (his words) but I have not seen the thing myself. There's also the small issue of me being several thousand miles away from the UK until 10-days from now.
He'll take £6,500 for it.
My aim is to have fun off-road, Play and pay etc, and off-road centres where I trailer it to the venue site and back home again. I like tinkering so the repair-thing is not a problem but even so I don't wish to buy something that's on its last legs.
Thanks to the rest of the guys for their replies too. I have checked out eBay but no Landy these days is cheap and Im just wondering what it would cost for me to buy a LR and add the bits, hence the reason why I thought it was an OK price.
To build a truck like that your looking at a good 10k. They don't come cheap !! Nor do the parts to build them
You have a £2000 in winch's and bumpers, £2000 in lockers, £1500 wheels and tyres £600/1000 roll cage, challenge wing kit £350 list goes on
This is the type of info that's invaluable to me! I still need to prod the thing but I'm now thinking of chatting with the guy when I return home in 9-days )) to pay a visit and see it in person! It's a long way but often I find that distance needs to be negated for the right vehicle. I'm sure that last bit will sound rude if someone is reading this part of the thread for the first time
I just love 'Buzz Lightyear Blue'.
Good post - thanks for the info!!
:clap2:
where is it, out of interest (rough location, not gonna gazump ya )
let us all know how yer get on
