Hi all ive just replaced my expansion tank cap with a new one , of the right sought, when the old one was on you could squeeze the top rad hose and it was very firm but with the new one on the same hose is firm but not as firm as the old one , anyone have any ideas as which one is ok or would they both be ok.

What made you decide to change the original one?

Cap should vent at 15 PSI, release completely at 22 PSI to prevent system damage. Your engine should not be running at anything like 15 PSI under normal conditions. Have the system and cap static tested.

Hi i replaced the old one because its been on the car for 8 years but iam now thinking of putting it back on ? , but what gets me is that the old one has 140 on it when you turn it over just like the new one but the old one where the 140 is is yellow and the new one black does it make a differance ?
