LOL. I aint no pikey:D:D

WANT ANTISOCIAL NOISE........was driving the quattro with ear plugs for 4months.:D:D

lol, I like noise when I hammer it but quiet for cruising on the motorway, used to have a scorpion on the other bmw and it was tiring on the long late journys when the only person to annoy was me

All the questions lol. Right it is a very snug fit to chassis and you have to put starter wires on top if you still want them to work after 500 miles lol. I used existing manifold studs as they weren't that bad. It is a very good quality exhaust all stainless except from one little bit (30cm) where the two goes into one from what I remember? As I have 3 exhaust ATM. It's is 3" straight throughout with the middle silencer. It was supplied with all bolts and clamps as standard. To be honest I am very pleased for the money.

can you give a little more detail about the starter wires mate, as the 72 rrc has all its live coming of the starters and this in one of the things that worried me, alot

If you don't mind me asking did you fit it yourself? If not could you let me know who did:) I'm not a million miles from you and recommendations are always best.

Comming up to the first aniversary of owning my Classic and the old girl has only cost me service parts so far:D So thats just jinxed it !!

Anyway the emergency repair fund is sitting there staring at me and I think the old girl deserves some TLC and I've been checking out a nice new S/S exhaust. How does the system sound? I don't mind a throaty growl when pushing it, but as Fett said a continuous droan just gets tiresome.

Your findings would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

The wires for starter sit alongside at mo and you need to undo the nut and move wires to run on top of starter using a little tie strap to hold it in place. This is because the branches sit close to the starter and didn't want them to touch and burn through!! Fortegrange I do all the mechanical work myself it's just electrical I don't really like. If you get stuck I can lend a hand but it is pretty straight forward.

Thanks for the offer of help sible. Not as young as I used to be and if I can 'borrow' my mates ramp at his work wouldn't hesitate, just don't fancy doing it on the driveway.

How is the sound anyway, nice rumble on heavy throttle and gentle hum on cruising:D or is that wishfull thinking

I think Rimmer bros should start paying me comission :p

, sible so how close does the manifold come to the starter body?

thanks for the heads up btw :D

It sits about 3-4cm away but still bit close to run wires between for my liking. It is really quite on light throttle but when u burry your foot it has a growl to it but still not ear pearcing. It is really good I am very happy with it. I like it when people look at it as if to say ****ty landrover and u put your foot down and fly past them wid a big grin on me face. And they look with great astonishment lol.

easy to do...welding easier than mild!!it dont melt at such a low temp..,you need to cut the pipe with disc cutter, forget hack saw!

buy the bends,go for manderal bent type..3 inch is toooooooooooooooo big..you dont need or wat it..header down pipes need to be 1 1/2-1 3.4 inch max.tubes after that 2-21/2 max..or you will just lose low down torque..you will not gain any top end hp..the rover engine is an old asmatic crap engine that likes small exhaust..only reason for 3in would be if race spec and turboed..remember if using rover headers then there is no point atall in going big bore exhaust, might as well make it in 2 all the way...

if using on road you will need silencer!! mine has 1 center box and uses decibel inserts in the twin tailpipes..was far too loud without inserts...the drone otherwise even cruising just makes you tired and the roar attracts plod and scares children..

mine on my 2 door is 2 1/2 home made, but has proper 300hp quad cam v8 in her.and to be honest i think i should have gone awee bit smaller..2 1/4?..the 4 door with 6pot turbo diesel (2 bar.lpg etc)has only 2 1/2 inch...no silencer but turbo does that.
