I have a Janspeed middle and rear stainless exhaust on my '93 LSE, but want to replace the rest of the standard catted system as well for something with no cats and tubular manifolds.

My problem is that although I can source tubular headers easily enough, I can't find the y-piece to join the centre section to the headers.

What are my options?

IF I remember correctly - Rimmer brothers sometimes sell individual parts to their system separately as they occasionally have to break a kit to replace a defective part

Give them a call - you can only ask

Cats not required in your part of the world then? because in the UK if a petrol engine leaves the factory with one fitted it must have it for the annual test (MOT).

real world..not mot world..if it passes emmisions..assuming mot man even tests for then it passes..

you not notised how many no pass no charge mot stations there are??..so..they pass..

if on lpg not even an issue even if emisions tested..

Other than clogging up my exhaust, it's unlikely my 21 year old catalytic converters are doing much in the way of saving the planet anyhow.

Careful you don't fall off your horse...it's rather high.

I called Janspeed today - who have suggested the y-piece and manifolds for the 3.9 are "similar" to those for the LSE.

Similar, in so much as the y-piece will likely be 8" too short I assume? I can get round this by having an extension made up if that's all that's required - anybody know?

Going to give their headers a miss as they're very expensive at nearly £400. Any recommendations for a more reasonably priced set that will mate up to the janspeed y-section?

why would y piece be too short??the extended chassis aint at the front but at the rear..so would be the same..the centre pipes would be longer.

re headers..real steel..headman headers 200 all in.vat included..job done.
