Hi All

Looking to take of my rear box tomorrow and replace with a side exit one,so i need to get it apart at the centre box, i have been under it today and gave the bolt clamps a spray up so hopefully they wont be to bad but any one got any advice on best way to split back box and centre box ? i dont have any ramps handy so not a great deal of room but want to give it go if i can ?

2 or 3 section,the 3 section one comes apart 'n' easy to get out from the back end and thats with no jacks or ramps but it would be even Easyer the higher you can get the back end

Mine came apart fairly easy and but it did help having a 2" suspension lift.

Not sure if it's 2 or 3 section one, it's on a 300tdi. I hope it won't be to rusted in place

Its a 3 piece system.

How do u know that?.
When the D1 left the factory the system was one piece from the down pipe backwards.

Reciprocating saw will fix that for you ...

Cos I fitted one last month and the old one is still in the garage.

Not hard at all if u enter it over the axel up side down and then twist it as u do it

For me a mini hacksaw an a packet of blades.

Normal hacksaw, greasy rag round one end of blade ...

Jack up the vehicle and support the body on stands, letting the axles hang ...

should give you just enough room ...
