Anyone know what Britpart rear tail pipes are like, seeing as they are only about £30?

Mine went at the end of last year after about 3 years, where it comes out of the center box just rotted through completely.

My last Britpart silencer lasted two and a half years. The rear pipe was still ok. My particular 300Tdi exhaust system seems to be hard to get, so local motor factors can't get it. I bought the replacement from Paddocks. Interestingly the image on the website showed a silencer box with a Britpart sticker on it. The one that arrives was made by a company called GT Exhausts. Never heard of them.

I wonder if it will last longer than the Britpart one? o_O

Yeh, if only they had made the exhaust out of the same paper.

LR150C - is that an actual part number?
Same part as ESR2384 LINKY
Does the broken end of the box line up with anywhere on the chassis you could attach a hanger to? I'd be tempted to consider that when I replaced it.

This would be the arc over the axle.
Think this section normally has 2 hangers 1 each end.
That's because you are using common sense. Have you clicked on that link to Paddock's Phil? There are no hangers near the box. Seems like too much weight between those two hangers to me.

Ended up taking my 110 to the local LR independent garage and they supplied & fitted a new one for £70. I couldn't be arse to do it myself. Sods law the bolts etc would have been seized,

I am in exactly the same position, my BRITPART rear silencer just fell apart after two and a half years gentle use. The cause was that the pipe rather than the silencer just disintegrated, the silencer is fine, the pipe is just a cylinder of ferrous oxide.
Like you I have been supplied with a GT Exhausts replacement, I have never heard of them, but they would have to try very hard to be worse than the one that it replaces.
Of note is that the length of the GT Exhausts pipe is slightly shorter than the BRITPART pipe in front of the front hanger, this may cause some issues if you are mating it to a BRITPART centre pipe, in my case it fitted better, but that may be because it is a 300tdi to LT77 conversion with a modified front pipe.

I know you get what you pay for, but I was genuinely surprised how 5hite the BRITPART silencer was.

I noticed the silencer was a different length too. The end of it was VERY close to the exhaust hanger bracket, near the gearbox cross member. I was expecting it to knock, but don't hear anything and, on inspection, there's no signs of it hitting it.
Coincidentally, I ended up at a motor factors called CTS Car Parts in South Shields a few weeks ago. They were the only place I could find with a Citroen C1 radiator in stock. Anyway, the place was big inside and kepts loads of parts, but the had a huge banner up advertising GT Exhausts. I asked them what they were like as I had just put one on my Defender. They said they were decent, as good as any other aftermarket exhausts they supplied. However, they then went on to say that they no longer supplied them. I asked why and they mumbled something about changing their supplier for some reason, but I could quite make out what he said. So, who knows, it'll be interesting to see how long it lasts.
