Hi

I need to replace the rear box after the insruance refused to. Phoned round a few of the national exhaust places and none of them can get hold of one.

I've spotted a couple on the bay but have no idea of quaility.

Anyone know where I can get a half decent one from ??

Cheers

Thanks

I've rang craddocks but they need the VIN first. Nothings ever simple anymore

hi, just replaced both back and middle boxes on a 95 p38 diesel. Really hard to source, local franchaise didnt have them. My usual motor spares shop had problems but eventually got one from bosal, about £75.

Really need to check exhaust layout against a autospares catalogue. They have diagrams of all layouts. The p38 design seemed to change every 12-18 months during its lifetime. My local guy was really feed up with me coming in and saying that it still aint the right one....

Thanks for the responces. I hope to have a good look underneath if the weather holds this weekend. Suspect I need the centre box aswell

Mine is a single rear box which I found from Island 4x4. They have items on Fleabay but for some reason if you go to their own website, things are cheaper still.
Mine has been on for 2 months now, no probs.

Good Luck

Because eBay are greedy b*ds and take a fortune in fees! I know cos I sell professionally on there, and it hurts!

Used Island a couple of times recently, and both times they've been very helpful on the phone. I ordered via their website and they got both orders out to me in France within 48 hours of me ordering. Very impressed.

Thanks for the reply s.
Had an engineer out yesterday to inspect the repairs the insurance co had done.
So I can actually fix a few things now.
I need both boxes and was thinking of using Island 4x4. As they can also supply a oil seal, I also want to give it a bit of a service and note that Island 4x4 also do service kits. But they appear to be britparts, Are britparts as bad as some make out, Should I just get the stuff from my local factors.

All done

Took about 40 mins to swap the exhaust. Did'nt even need to jack it up.

You're not going to start a pattern vs genuine parts debate are you?!!

Anyway, iirc Island 4x4 and Paddocks sell genuine bits too, and they are no more expensive.

No not trying to start a debate, Just asking.

The exhaust was a brit part, The fit was good all the flanges lined up well. The welding was a bit rough but OK, And it weighed a bit less than the one I took off. But for the money I paid I'm not complaining.
