Hi all got a problem I just got a discovery 1 and the bloke I got it off has removed the middle box and welded in a bit of pipe sounds good but a bit to loud on the road so I want to put the box back in and remove the rear one the problem is the new boxes have a flange at one end and a slide join the other but mine has a flange a both ends I have been told that only the 4 liter has a flange at both ends and mine is a 3.9 so should I buy the box for the 4l ?

Many thanks Jim

Not a problem if the 4 ltr has the correct fitting, fit it. I took my centre box out and fitted a flexi pipe in place, the centre box rots in no time can't say as it sounds any louder but it does go a little bit better.

Well the 4l has the same ends but I don't know if the length and pipe angles are the same. Has anyone fitted a cherry bomb in place of the center box ?

Could someone have fitted the 4l exhaust on my 3.9 ?

Do you mean a D2 or P38 (4L) exhaust? then no as they are different.

My Janspeed cat-back system is in two parts and flanged both ends, made to measure as it should be, only the cheepy systems have the slide in joints to takeup any varations..
