Guys,
I'm after some advice.

One of my rear boxes has blown so I am going to replace both boxes and the middle bit. The fronts have already been done.

Buying the parts from Island doing it myself works out only £50 cheaper than having it done by Mr Exhaust. Plus at the moment I am incapatated so cant do it myself.

The system at Mr Exhaust is made by Klarius. Is this make any better/worse than the Allmakes and Britpart systems?

Thanks in advance. (From my hospital bed!!)

I'm looking at renewing mine too. And my advise would be to not go for the Brit part system. OEM systems arnt that expensive and will out last the Brit part system

I've just paid £255 for centre section and both rear silencers fitted which I think were Bosal (was going to be another make but the other make didn't fit  ).

The original had lasted 15 years. I don't anticipate having the car in 15 years so wasn't that troubled by the make.

I ordered a centre and back box for my P38 from Island a few years ago, it was listed as Britpart. When it arrived it was obvious due to the embossed lettering and labels that they were Bosal parts. Had no problems fitting them and they performed well even after my P38 was sold a couple of years ago. Highly unlikely that you will get an ultra long life from an exhaust system unless you pay mega bucks and go for stainless with a lifetime warranty. At the end of the day, it's a semi consumable part and if you get 3+ years out of it you are doing well. You wouldn't fret over replacing your tyres after 3 years would you......unless you were doing 3000 miles a year !! ;)
I have recently fitted a Klarius complete system (Type approved), including Cat to my Freelander and it is as good a quality as I have seen and not made from tissue paper thin material either.

Thanks for all the posts.

I now have it booked in with my local indi guy, who is even cheaper than Mr Exhaust.

Cheers
