For £5k at a mileage of about 86,000 on an N/A engine, it's not even been run in yet!!
As with all these, take someone along and have a good look around it, bearing in mind that it is just a big Meccanno set with no electronics to go wrong!
Properly tuned, you should get a top speed of around 80mph and a return of about 30mpg. 0-60 will be in the region of 3, maybe 4 weeks, but that's OK!
Best of luck with it, and please let us know how you get on.

That's a Witham's vehicle, I would just look on their main site www.mod-sales.com for more examples.

EX MOD are exactly that and the problems are usually that they have spent most of their time sat outside un-used. Sure mechanically they will have had servicing etc but most wont have had the regular usage but this one does have higher miles than most.

The idiots who write the descriptions should be ignored.
"There are no known faults with the vehicle as it runs and drives and pulls very well in all the gears"

Do me a favour, check for rust and anything from blocked drainage from it sitting for so long. I don't think they try and rip you off but they don't often let them go cheap. They also wouldn't have any idea on faults which is their get out.

I think they retro fit all of their vehicles as they usually say "starts on the button"

Thanks, I'll bear all that in mind

Mines ex-mod. That looks like a fitted for radio (FFR). Normally the hard tops are. You can see the (large) 24v generator under the bonnet. The mileage on the clock will have no baring at all on engine life. The engine could well have spent months and years running at 2k all day charging radio batteries. When I bought my FFR, I knew nothing about them. It also had a N/A engine with very low power (mine had a failed head gasket). Unless they are in tip top condition and properly tuned, they are a dog to drive in modern traffic. If the engine's a good un though, it will last forever. I converted mine to a 200TDI and fitted a discovery transfer box which makes it a much more driveable vehicle.

That's a very good idea Oldseadog. I've never seen her in the flesh. If you can wait about a month, my garage should be finished then and I'll give you a shout. We are upside down at the moment having an extension built.
