hi all, can anyone help: where do i get (and what is it called) the window rubber that sits in the groove that the window slides into? rainwater just goes straight into the channel and runs down the inside of the door.
110, ex mod, 1986... also...is the knob that locks the window tight easy to fix or do i have to take the door apart? knob not turning and so window not locking. ARGH
check out photos

If you work it out let me know! I Thinks it why we don't have for cards so the water runs away!

Also if you can stop them rattling!

ok philvy, so much info on your link...need to sift through and make some calls. not the felt stuff but the outside rubber strip so that narrows it down a bit. will let you all know when i have sourced the right bit. found an ex-mod spares shop so will try them first!
cheers again, philvy :)

My windows dont leak.... ill try and get some photos tomorrow of the rubber seals so you can make sure you have them in the right places.

Here's a couple fo photos of my door seals. My windows don't leak.

Starting with the outside - there is a gap in the seal of the rubber between the door top and bottom (circled red). This is where any water entering the window comes out. There is no gap on the inside - If there was then the water would leak into the car.

thanks lucifus, actually i need to go out and doublecheck that exterior trim. but your reply makes a lot of sense. i think i have been looking at it from the wrong perspective.
on another matter, your window lock is like a lever whereas mine is a knob with, i presume, a thread. mine doesn't work, that is, it is unbelievably stiff and doesn't stop the glass from sliding whatsoever. can i refit a lever like yours without dismantling the door? at the mo we lock the window with a strip of wood which has totally swollen up now due to aforementioned window problem!!
cheers

Picked up the seats on ebay when i first bought the defender. They were used but almost as good as new. Took about 10 mins to fit them. I think they are the same as wolf land rovers too. Im not sure what lock you have if it doesnt look like mine. Post some piccies up and im sure someone can help. I think there is someone selling the window locks on ebay too. If you search for military land rover on there you will probably find them

yes, they are the same as the wolf. the wolf has a balck ballistic nylon covering but otherwise identical. I have wolf seats in my ex MOD D90. Way better that than the original slab seats we had when I was in the RAF!

thanks jamesmartin; love a site with cross sections: imagine describing it over the phone...also, thanks again lucifus, loving your seats. will do some research tho think i am looking at £150 a seat. notice you have no soundproofing in your cab...smart but loud!
