ex mil are looked after better than anything you'll find else where... if a vehicle goes to the workshop with '.. a dented bumper.. it will be subjected to at least 3 inspections and usually more.. there is the 'In Inspection' done by a class 1 mechanic who checks everything on it, he then writes out a job card listing all the faults..
next comes the mechanic that does the actual work, who in his best interests had better ensure its in A1 condition..
then it has its out inspection where it everypart not just those faults listed on the job card is checked by a class 1 mechanic.
all servicing is carry out as per schedule
the underneath has extra thick underseal which pratically eliminates rust on the chassis.
of course there are times when comittments and other factors mean that a complete check is not done every time but next time round it will be .
so to say you can get an ex-mil that has done 5k and been neglected is total bollocks and an insult to the REME blokes wot look after them
