I see a lot of people complaining about the quality of parts from BritPart but I don't see much about eurocarparts.

I've used them for bits and bobs on other cars and never yet had a problem with any purchased part. Just wondering if anyone uses them for their RR or if there are certain items to steer clear of?

I need to replace a few bits n bobs (drop links, belt (it's worn/cracked)) and was thinking of nipping along to ECP!
 
there known in the trade for cheap crap but thats not to say all parts will be just a good chance they will
 
I guess it was more of a 'should be only use OEM from LR' type question. I'll generally use a local parts place (SRS Auto parts)

OEM is "original equipment manufacturer" and does not need to come from Land rover. However it does not automatically mean the OEM parts are as good a quality as the original factory parts. Parts are a bloody minefield thanks to our eastern friends who make good stuff for the expensive genuine parts market and ****e for the cut price market usually in the same factory.
 
I got a set of rear brake pads from ECP for me 90 as they just happened to get down to the metal as I passed, lasted all of 300 mile :rolleyes:

now I do have drilled and grooved disks on the back, and get a bit muddly now n again, but still, 300 mile is pants, the replacements have done 700 so far and I can't notice any wear on em.
 
I find they are good with price if you check online for offers and order online for collection or delivery so you get the best discount

As for the parts
Well you get what you pay for most parts are fine but I've fund over the years that some parts with rubber in or on them can be poor
Ie exhaust mounts they last a year if your lucky before they start splitting/cracking
And things like track rod ends and link rods the rubber boots round the joint tend to crack/split sooner than you would like

The only other thing would be supping the wrong parts but that can be the case with all of them
 
They offer levels of most parts e.g a less expensive and a more expensive. Normally goin for the more expansive works out best but in recent years almost all parts I have had from them have been good. Just make sure they give you the right part! I use them a lot for VW parts.

Did you complain? I'd complain to VOSA too. The parts are clearly not fit for purpose.

Just shows how some people can be a danger to themselves. Grooved discs are designed to slice a new surface every time the brakes are applied to prevent the hard pads designed for use with them glazing. Fitting soft pads to them can be fatal. The Kevin and his Corsa values live on it would seem.

Some spotty little lads seem to think so. A one litre Corsa with wide alloys, lowered suspension, a make a bloody racket but don't get anywhere exhaust and even a linked to throttle dump valve noise emulator are seen as the bees knees by people called Kevin apparently. Standard ones are good for going to Asda in though. :D:D:D
