Im tempted to do a prefacelift conversion on my TD5 due to lack of affordable facelift bumpers and highly stealable headlights.
Good idea or just plain silly?

I know its not a Landrover but the other half injectors on her megan 1.5dci are failing, she needs a spill test doing and someone to fit and reprogram however many new injectors. . I've obviously asked Mike, but he's really busy (so much so I've not seen him since the last time he was in my hot tub) ((july)) - anyone local to chemsford/braintree ??

I know a decent garage in Chelmer, chelmer rover home

Not sure if they reprogram injectors but worth giving them a call :)

can you not bolt on some light guards with security screws or something like that?

there was a thread a few years back which detailed it being done with cable ties (behind the light)

I'm in the process of collecting all the bits to do mine. A facelift that is :D

I am going to get a set of the genuine light guards and then riv nut and security screw them to the body.

Hi all just back from my first Attempt at Green laning, went down one in my village (kelvedon Hatch) cows farm lane. Nice and easy with a big puddle at one end.
Any others locally that can be recommended for a beginner?

Hi mate, most of the local ones are tame, you could join the brentwood club they go out regular. message tuskenraider he will give you details, or keep your eye on this thread and tag along next time we are out.

Forgot to mention, dont go out alone because it will go tits up at some point and the AA wont recover you from an overgrown lane or a mud pit.

Had some time to myself today so serviced the TD5. Nice and easy to do. Also was nice to be able to work on a Land Rover and not get covered in sand and dirt :D

In other news: Still looking for the "right" TD5 defender but am struggling :(

Thanks for the info, tame is kind of what I'm after at the moment whilst I build up some confidence. I will keep an eye on here would be good to be in some kind of group as much as I didn't feel any risk today I suppose you only need to hit something hard and you could be stuck in the brown stuff!!

tommy the brentwood landrover club meet at the thatchers arms in gt warley every tuesday from 8 onwards and go laning a few times a month

drizz re pre face lift you see alot a people that do the facelift headlights on the earlyer model but still keep the pre facelift bumper have you considered using a prefacelift bumper ???
