That's my favourite ford.
It's always around the 2ft marker regardless of weather
Doable in a bog standard disco. I bravely followed Brian once he tested the depth.
Last time I was down I noticed a large section of the step was starting to break away, I think a lot of agricultural vehicles use it.

Whereas baddow ford seems to rise quickly after any decent rainfall. Just avoid it at night, very unsavoury unless yu have a decent sniper rifle :mil4:

More problems with Patch, my very slow water leak, that I could not find, has now turned in to a large one lossing a header tank full every day or day and a half, it seems to be the Gasket PTE100790 that sits between the block and the Water Pump distance block.... so have just ordered a nes water pump gasket ERR3248 and a PTE100790... more repairs for the weekend....... or one night if it get too bad.

One step forward and......
Hope you get sorted soon.

Yer I did it when i first got my disco and was crapping myself the whole way across lol. Noticed the broken step as well.

Good Easter isnt a bad one and the one is Stock is good after some rain :D

Just a quick heads up for you guys, pretty sure I will be breaking Tiny next month. Want to get my Astra built so the 3 door bobtail project is looking very unlikely.
Most parts will be available and plan to have the chassis galved then sell it on.

Guys them pictures look awesome of these Lanes in essex.

Is there a thread im missing on what you need to start greenlaning??

Decient recovery points front and rear (tow bar is fine at the back and jade rings for the front) is enough to get you started.
After that its anything you can think of (or afford) snorkel, diff guards, suspension lift, bigger tyres, winch, light guards, etc, etc.

Top stuff. Thanks for your help mate - i look forward to getting out and about. On the back i have a Tow Bar. and the font i have nothing but will look into these Jade rings and where they would go :) (Right Novice) I already has a 2 inch lift so that may help a little.

They bolt into where your front bumper bolts to the chassis.

Its the two U shaped parts on the front of my truck under the bumper (not on it)

time to post some pic's of the fender.
If someone has bothered to lift it I would be very surprised if the bumper didnt have some recovery points and or if JATE rings haven't been fitted (located on the chassis).

there maybe an outing this Friday. Only two + a maybe of us confirmed so far, not sure where we are heading yet?
might be worth seeing if the herts boys and gals are heading out?

Cheers mate, probably breaking it next month and keeping my near standard one as I have too many projects on the go.
Nick whats the plan on Friday?

bit of daytime laning.
Happy to sort route and lead but not fussed where we go, just be nice to have a day laning.

Choices?
East Herts (could include violets lanes)
Essex
Or up to Suffolk, maybe round Thetford.

Any preferences?

So you dont get confused, they are actually called Jate rings :)

PM786 | Jate Rings - pair - Forged and Galvanised

Dont buy the welded ones you see on ebay as they are a bit crap.

I would get a snorkel and a wading kit (extended breathers) if you intend on doing any fords, other than that decent tyres are the only real thing to have even if they are just the standard size. After that you should look at protecting the underside with diff guards, steering guard or/and HD steering bars. You will find you buy something and then find something else that then needs upgrading :D

Fitted my new spare tonight with a decent tyre (been running a road tyre on an alloy since I got it :bounce:)

My first Landy!

very nice.
just what i wanted when i first started looking, couldn't afford a decent 6 seater fender so ended up with the Disco. Now saving for a CSW 110

Looks like it used to have a snorkel fitted, if your lucky it may have already had the breathers extended.

Your welcome to tag along on Friday if your about.
