Something about you they don't like :p

yeah but what......... I don't know what from what every ones saying the only thing I can think it is my Disco is kept in a communal car park, but I am bloody older then you whipper snappers, or is it you got other cars as well, Patch is my only car?. I know I got the bike but not had a bike accident for about 8 years.

£400 left in the Landy fund. That is to do shotblasting, engine mount bracket change, galvanising and transport as well as fitting. If money runs out.... project stops and I have to get a banger car to use for work :(

My Disco is second car but the quote on TD5 was as main car. Can only think its the parking and area being an issue.
Mines garaged in a low risk area.

Well was up at 5am, crammed into Brians Discovery for the drive up to Peterborough for the Landy show. Wandered round all day, ate ****e overpriced food and had to share some of the drive back with an uncomfortable Defender bulkhead and drive a transit in high winds.
And what did I bring back???

2 cans of satin black spray paint.

Ah well the banter more than made up for the not-so-entertaining show.

Oh and on a side note I'm thinking of upgrading to 35" tyres this year so my 32" mud tyres would be up for grabs. Set of 5 (one has a puncher that will be repaired) 265/75/16 Kingpin's (same as Insa Turbo's) on my high offset Land Rover steel wheels that allow full lock with a 2" lift. Will also include 4 standard modulars as I will have no use for them and mean you can run normal width if you so wish.
Most of you know these may not be the most expensive tyres but they certainly do the job, pulling the truck up the muddest of hills where many others have given up. The tyres are also also road legal and have gone through 2 MOT's with no issues. Still have loads of tread left and would last for ages if you didn't use them on the road everyday.

After £300 for the 5 tyres, 5 high offset steelies and 4 modular steelies.

Maybe its due to the Landy being your main drive.
Try getting a quote as if the Landy was a 2nd car. Would be interesting to see if it drops back to 'normal' levels.

If so insure yourself 3rd party on a friends group 1 car such as a Seat Marbella LINK

You then get into "fronting" and the associated similar stuff ;)

Good point. But if the insurance is back to £200 PA. then he could buy and run a Cinquecento (another group 1 car) and still have ££££ left in the bank + he would look good at Newbourne in it :D put some 35's on it, might need an arch cut?
I've even found one for sale LINK

Yeah, you're ok if you own the car but you can't really use a friends one and say it's your main car ;)

Nice landy there johny will be good to meet ya next time we are out what ya got under the bonnet?

Got my head gasket finished and all back up and running:D also picked up a proper defender 200tdi temp gauge as the sender from Steve parkers (the robbing over priced bastids) sent me a standard tdi sender and not one for a tdi conversion which it was supposed to be, still worried about toeing it thou at the moment, how long do ya recon I should take it easy for?

Matt how's it going with the new chassis?

It is getting there. It's back from the shotblasters. Just got to measure up and weld on the new engine mount brackets. That's the bit I'm worried about..... not the welding but the tape measure bit

I'm here every day if you want to lend a hand :D

Going off for galvanising on Tuesday next week but may try and get them to collect it on Friday instead :)

Chin up mate you get there in the end.
did you measure what 400x 800 you need, let me know and i'll get it ordered and cut. Dont need the tube now as i bought some pre made tree sliders to bolt or weld on to the rock sliders when i've made them from the lro show, also bought a couple of swivel shackles for the winch bumper, but can't fit them without taking the bumper off, hacked off about that.

If you just get me 2x 2 meter pieces. 4 meters is just over half a bar. That'll leave you the rest to do yours which will be more than enough. If you're getting it from IS&G you should be able to bring it up at the weekend?

shes a 300tdi (from a disco) under the hood, fitted to an LT77 box.

funnily enough mate, i have been having fun and games with my engine temp gauge. Mine runs fine, doesn't over heat, but I just can't get the gauge to read right, runs off the scale in about 3 minutes (but the engine is cool). soon as i turn the engine on from cold start its a 3rd of the way across the dial...

replaced the gauge, replaced the sender to a 300tdi (green) doubled up the earth. My next move is to order the 300 tdi (blue) and Black senders and trial both of them see if that makes any difference....
