Well howdy so my lovely #@**$ freelander is suffering from jerking while driving esp 2nd/3rd gear, ran my fault code reader got error codes P0302 - Cylinder 2 misfire detected and p0313 misfire detected low fuel level is on ther twice 2nd one pending. I've changed one of the coil packs which had gone the other is fine seem to be going through coil packs like chocolate donuts at the moment but problem still exists, anyone have some pointers, cheers
Check that the plugs are OK one of mine were tracking down the side missed like a good un.
If it tends to happen when it gets hot I would lean towards coil breakdown but you say that you have already changed one ,you could try running without the cover on the coils/top of the engine and see if it alters with a change of temp
But the coils are a bit fragile, I ended up buying a pair of new ones after trawling round the salvage yards for used

Check the IACV - Idle Air Control Valve, this can stick and allow the incorrect amount of air into the engine and cause running problems. Easy to remove and clean it.

If it starts missfiring as it gets hot then it's usually the coil. Were the replacement coil packs genuine ones? In some cases fitting a new coil pack with an old one can cause the old one to fail.
