Retired to the country
4.6 petrol.
I am getting a persistent error code P0112 which points to the air temp sensor in the MAF. I have checked for air leaks in the induction pipe and that's all OK. I have cleaned the connector with switch cleaner no difference. If I take the air box cover off and just rev the engine the code doesn't re appear. If I put it back its straight away back.
Is there anyway of testing the sensor with a multimeter?
If it is knackered are the cheaper replacements any good or do I need to get a genuine Bosch one?

Could you be nudging a connection/wire somewhere? Genuine MAF seems to be the way to go, they are quite fussy
I did wonder that, but guess where the wire disappears, under the upper manifold
It seems to run OK, no errors on the dash etc. Needs a new air filter which I will pick up tomorrow. I have got the gas running better, not 100% but very drivable. Plug colours are all golden so mixture can't be far off.

I'd check the filter box where the air also enters, mice can build a great nest that can course issues like this also. I've had a Honda civic 1.6 idic' diesel in with an air/fuel mixture sensor fault....

why would that be???

Looks like it's had regular dealer servicing:rolleyes:
Funny you should say that... They had bought it from a car dealer who had serviced it.... The oil filter (after being driven from England) was loose if they skimp on an air filter what else could be a foot!!!

So have checked all the intake for blockages but all clear, new air filter fitted and a known good MAF as well. Unfortunately the issue still exists so looks like a wire somewhere in the loom is busted. Just got to work out where the wires go now.
