I think you mite need to find a id bluetooth unit then. It has an unlatch function that allows service and replacment of the parking brake. It basically unwinds the cable by reversing the motor.
The IID has an EPB module re-latch option, the Icarsoft I930 doesn't.No I only have the iCarsoft Multi-system Scanner i930.

I'm thinking you need access to be better diagnostic unit, one that has EPB re-latch capability.
I can't remember about the full re-latch process. I generally just replace the cables if damage, or bin the module, if it gives other trouble.But the OP has had his out repaired so was relatched manually.
It sounds like a manual re-latch isn't recognised, as its not been through the software.

out of curiosity how did u set up ur rear shoes plse ,
ie, can u remember what was the torque rating on the large centre nut and how many clicks did u release the shoes by pls , I’m just wondering if maybe the shoes arnt set up so every time u apply the switch the cables become to tight , force sensor senses that and automatically releases the cable again
just an idea just in case the shoes weren't released by enough clicks , if u don’t mind sharing what u need as there might be something we see in what u did, plse don’t think I’m trying to teach u how to suck eggs

I tightened the halfshaft retaining nut to 350 Nm. I adjusted the toothed wheel adjuster up until drum would not move, painted a white dot on one tooth and clicked it out until white dot returned to same position. Drum now turns but not sure what torque is acceptable?? My good neighbour is as mechanic and tested my vehicle with bluetooth unit and found the same C1A53 error. Frustration ongoing!
I bought a actuator unit from a vehicle dismantler but it arrived dripping water so I returned it. Sourced another unit and fitted it.
Went through the latch up procedure using the EPB switch and the unit appears to have worked leaving the brake on.
Problem now is I can't release the brake.
The EPB switch has no response pulling up or pushing down.
Pulled the emergency release cable and repeated latch up, same problem no switch response.
No EPB error code found.
I did find Transfer module going to earth but it still functions!
Any ideas?
Have you coded the replacement module to the vehicle?
The vehicle needs to know the module exists, and has to have a matching VIN, or the EPB won't work.
does that need coding/vin too? Somebody needs to help JLR someone with sense maybe
Yes, it's for security, so the VIN and mileage is stored in several modules, including the EPB module.

How do you code the replacement module to the vehicle?It's what reduces thefts, at least without the keys. Of course these days, crooks just break into your house to steal the keys, as modern vehicles are virtually impossible to steal without them.
