Been getting the eas soft message now and again, maybe twice a week but after locking and restarting it goes away.
I have replaced all 4 airbags and the compressor, it doesn't drop overnight so I don't think there are any leaks.
I've noticed that if the lowest level is selected the car drops fine but the flashing change of level continues, could this be a height sensor issue. Also noticed that whilst stationary the compressor runs, stops followed by a phht (blow off) which I presume is the exhaust but then runs again after about 30 seconds and keeps repeating the cycle.
Any ideas gratefully accepted :D

If your compressor is coming on and off like that, you must be losing air somewhere.
The fact that it stays flashing going to access, while seeming like a sensor issue, makes me wonder, does the ECU allow a valve stay open until it reaches the preset position or is there a time limit on it, that might be what the soft fault is. You should get the fault read by someone, have you downloaded the free software?
I've read on other sites how you can take apart the sensor and swap it round to make the contacts run on fresh parts of the track but I'd rather try it on a scrap one first before I'd try it on my own.
Have you access to someone who can change the height settings?

Bl**dy car, I've just about had it with it  Gina went to the garage for some nibbles last night and the starter motor went so had to get it rescued, only changed it 6 months ago and its a pig of a job.
Anyway back to the original problem, no I don't have the software, I'm not good with things like that I don't get on to well with magic black boxes :D last time the fault was read before I changed the air springs and compressor the faults were 'height sensor' and something to do with pressure, dealer advised that the height sensor was probably a spurious fault and not to worry about it. I have checked for leaks and couldn't find any, the suspension doesn't drop at all even when left for several days.
Anybody give me a grand for it and they can have it :mad:

Halfords do a set of ratcheting C-shaped spanners, combined with a cut off allen key its the best way to get the starter off. Makes a bit*h of a job much easier. I had to do my V8 classic on top of a mountain when it happened me! I had replaced it only a couple of months earlier with a part exchange starter. The replacement one had plastic cogs inside which shattered. When I brought it back the, distributor gave me an OE Lucas one which has brass parts instead of plastic ones, no problem since. But those C-shaped ratchet spanners are the business, I had it refitted in no time.
On the EAS problem, Wills or one of the other ECU gurus might be able to answer if a faulty sensor can make an exhaust valve stay open. This seems to be the most obvious source of the problem. As you don't appear to have leaks this would seem to be the most obvious way for air to get out of the system. In the mean time I wouldn't use access height unless you really need it and are turning off the car, that way you'll save your new compressor.

Compressor behaves like it all the time, transition lights extinguish at normal and high settings but not at access level ?

hi i also have a problem with my eas front suspension wont rise and compresor running continuosly rear works fine no messages on dash any one have any ideas

I'm afraid you probably have one of the two basic problems with the EAS, a bad leak or a worn compressor. The ECU always raises the rear end first so as to prevent dazzling an on coming car at night. It then tries to raise the front, but if there isn't enough pressure or you have a bad leak it can't lift it. You probably have a worn out front airbag.
Try turning on the car but leave one of the doors open. This lets the compressor fill the tank while the rest of the EAS is disabled. You should hear the compressor shut off after less than ten minutes. If it doesn't then your comp is worn out. If it does turn off, shut the door and watch the car come up while listening for leaks.

thanks to spudh problem found to be a air bag previous owner replaced 3 and left one which is now leaking new one on order thanks for the info
