you trying to make him suicidal ?And you have us
I started as an endentured apprentice and still have my documents, good experienced men shared their knowledge with me and all I had to do was carry the tools and go to the shop at lunch time.
Now it should be my turn to pass on what I learned but in so many industries experience seems to be like aids people who have it are not welcome and soon disappear, one of my life regrets is the chain ends with me.
I can't complain really I made a good living and now enjoy my retirement, but it doesn't feel right.
Worthers originals humm i like those bugger i must be getting old ow wait i am
It was politicians that effectively stopped apprenticeships describing them as "outdated in the modern technological age". Companies were quick to realise that it was cheaper to employ already trained staff than do the training.one of the things of progress is that companies want 'cheap'.. experience comes at a price.
Cant really help as I dont know this engine but keep up the photos and I am sure people will offer their knowledgeView attachment 190020 Hi guys I’m back and straight at it. So I’ve got one injector out the first one on the right bank as viewed from front. I can’t pull the second one out using adjustable grips but it’s so tightly in I’m a little nervous of breaking it anyhow might go to the left bank and try to get those out.
I’m also looking at the sump is this as straight forward as it looks from below already got starter out any advice whilst I stop for a cuppa would be great

Re the sump. My tip is to take the oil out first before removing it.

If you leave it in and pull off the sump, someone may photograph you and that would ruin your chances of getting elected in Canada.Personal experience?

You should start your own new thread and not tag onto the end of an old 2019 post.Hello everyone
I am new on the LR side (before I ride an volvo XC90 and now an Ford Expedition)
But since my friend is buying an LR Dico 4 build in 2012 with SDV6 engine we also have some problems with that.
So I‘d like to discribe our problem and would be soooo happy, if someone could help with his experience:
Start…
Cylinderhead Cover bank 2 was broken so we dissassebleing and istalling 2 new once.
That was a good opportunity to also change the wasted hydros at the intake side
After assembling we learnes -> engine in not able to tourn over by hand (close to OT from booth sides)
We checked all cylinders and intake hole properly with a camera -> looking great
The blocking seems to be in the crankshaft, because we removed also the timing belt, set the camsafts to „free“
Engine is blocking furthermore matallicaly
Next…
We removed the front transmission gear and oil pan
No damage in the crankshaft, no visible blockings, no damage damage of shells
All looks fine… but engine is already blocking in the same position
Any Idea from the experts here?
Maybe P1Darbs did you have found something could help us?
Thx a lot and nice greets… Matthias
The SDV6 likes breaking cranks
