had an oil leak from the rocker cover and it went all down the engine.and its up for mot next week but it looks a bit of mess under the bonet.i wanted to jet wash the engine and wanted to no if that was ok to do.do i have to cover anything electrical incase it got spashed or should i just blast away.or is the only way by hand.thanks

Tdi or V8? If it's a Tdi then all I do is cover the alternator and blast away. I would recommend spraying some brake cleaner over the engine first. Also be aware that letting any of the water into a storm drain is technically illegal.
