Thinking of swopping out my petrol 2.5 engine 90 (1986) for a tdi. Couple questions.

Is it best to try get hold of a defender 200/300 engine only or buy a knackered Disco and throw in engine, gearbox, transfer box and axles at the same time

my 90 came with power steeering so not sure how that would fit in with it all.

any pointers welcome

Well for a start the gearbox wont fit unless you change gear from the middle seat.

My 1974 Series 3 already has a 2.0 TDI with PAS now i have to convert it back to a petrol to comply with the 2012 London emissions zone or i will have to pay 100 quid a day to keep it on my drive

dam maybe its worth flogging my engine on then if thats gonna be the case. Or see if someone wants to swop for a 200 / 300 tdi lol
