Might also be your MAF sensor. Just unplug it and if the car goes better, replace it.

there is oil in the red plug ..??
what does this mean ?
thanks
gaz

Hi Gaz, 'oil in the red plug' means that your injector loom O-rings have gone. To fix this you can either replace the loom for about £25-30 or just replace the O-rings about £2. Look on Ebay.

Your choice..................

hi

sorry im quite new to engines only started with my disco :)
whats the MAF sensor
thanks
gaz

Hi Gaz, MAF stands for Mass Air Flow meter and it is this device which measures the quantity and temperature of the air going into the engine. This sensor send information to the ECU (Engine Control Unit) to control the fuelling of the engine.

It is found between the air filter box and the turbo.

There's another one which should be cleaned also - the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor. It is found in the inlet manifold and is held in place by two 8mm bolts. The best thing to clean both of these imo is Brake and Clutch cleaner aerosol. Give them both a good spray - especially the MAP - to ensure all gunk is removed. Do not touch either of these devices with brushes or the like.

Good luck, every day's a learning day for all,
