Hi all, just wondered if anyone has any idea if this is a fault or thats just what there like. My disco td5 1999 runs and starts fine but some times the engine is in tickover and i set off and the engine stalls , like a total lack of torque. It starts up ok and runs fine. Any help or advice would be appreciated. On another matter i still have my 5 alloys c/w good tyres that i would like to sell, haven't put them on e bay but would like them to go befor christmas there 16" if any one would like to make me an offer. Cheers Mark

check for oil contamination in the injector loom.

When did it last have the fuel filter changed? Does it start ok from cold?

yep slight oil on injector loom where it joins ecu but i have cleaned that periodically with no difference and with regards to starting from cold engine starts and runs ok at all times . Just getting fed up of hitting head on dash board when i go to pull away!!!

Have you changed the injector loom under the rocker cover?

when you say it stalls do you mean it actually stalls or just jolts a couple of times? If it jolts, are you accelerating hard at the time? If so it sounds like your turbo wastegate or solenoid is sticking.

Cheers for the quick response Ratty .I havent actually never changed this loom from the rocker cover to ecu but i do clean it regularly and with regards to stalling the engine it does completly stall and needs to be restarted.

It sounds like it's either the injector washers at fault or the injector wiring loom inside the rocker cover. Does it sometimes feel flat when your driving it? If so then my money is on the loom. Cleaning the ecu plug is only a temporary measure.

there was another thread a week or so ago with similar things happening. I'll see if I can find it a sec.
