Hi again, I replaced the belt and tensioner pulley and the squeak went for a couple of days, I also had the water pump replaced about 6 months ago too. Is it possible to remove and replace the bearing on the water pump pulley? If so, are there any guides on how to do this. A wee sqirt of wd40 on the pump pulley makes it go away for a few seconds but it comes back.

Cheers guys, John

before you do anything, slacken the nut on your tensioner arm (15mm) slide it forwards a little bit,put a 1 pence piece behind it on the left hand side (as your looking at it)then retighten, see if that shuts it up!

Hi - Simple, all you need is a toothbrush and a tube of Girling Red Brake Seal Grease. Apply grease to brush, apply brush to grooved side of belt with engine running, Bob's your uncle's Aunt, job done, squeal gone. That was 6 months ago!!

I tried all the usual Quack 'Cures' none worked. - OldDiscoMan

Thanks for the input, going to try the penny trick today. Does this increase tension or ware on the stud holding the tensioner eventually causing it to shear off. I have read this in a few threads.

Thanks again guys, John

Tried the penny trick, worked a treat. I feel a wee tear welling up in my eye. Windows down for the summer and no more annoying stares as I drive up the road ( not sure if they're staring at me or the car......) :5bdriving:

Thanks again guys, John
