Hi all,
I was having a discussion today with the lads in the workshop on what is the biggest engine you could fit in a freelander. Has anybody tried to fit a different/bigger engine in one. we had an old freelander kicking around the work shop that we use for pulling/dragging things around.

Limited by transverse layout. The KV6 Honda based 2.5 is the largest stock - perhaps the Volvo 3.2 I6?

There's pic's on the web of a v8 in a FL1 but we don't know if it was put in for show only and never worked.

Kv6 was designed and developed by Rover to replace the Honda 2.7 V6 used in Rovers at the time.

Isn't there some connection with Honda or china making some of the v6 for the FL1?
