Hi,
not posted before so be kind!
I have a 1990 Land Rover 90 with a 19J 2.5TD engine, 137K on the clock and assume its the same engine. It had a big MOT failure back in Feb and decided to treat it as a project and do the work myself and really enjoyed it! New brakes, new brake pipes, new rear cross member, steering drop arm ball joint, rear ball joint, new seat belt and few silly odds and ends.
passed its MOT last week and back on the road
I also give the old girl a bit of a service while I was in the mood. She is running better than ever, starts well and running great. But I still have major oil leaks and yes it puts oil in the air filter.
Yesterday I was trying to track down other oil leaks and I found it dripping out while the engine was running just behind the water pump at the head gasket seal.
So, would a head gasket change sort a lot of these issues and should I rebuild the head while I am at it?
Are there kits for head repair available?
