Hi
my tdi has a rattle from the engine on cold start up, cant identify exactly where it comes from, but it disapears after a few minutes once the engine starts to warm. There also seems to be a slight shuddering on warm tickover?
where do i start, injectors, valve clearances ?

Check and set your valve clearances mate, just make sure you do it on a cold engine using the number 9 method : 4 closed - check 5 etc.....

Also check your engine oil level isn't too low

backOil level is ok. Will check the valves and report back.

When was the oil last changed mate?......old crappy oil won't lubricate as it should. Also what viscosity is it? If the oil is too thick, and with the cold weather, it is too viscous to lubricate properly. Sorry if it sounds like sucking eggs etc.
