Personally I use 10w40 and change it every 6 months.
Ok question for you guys. How many miles do you drive in 6 months? I cring thinks the 6 month oil change. Here it's on the miles driven 5-7k some times thats 2 months or less? Oil changes are cheap insurance for a 4000$ motor or better, my truck is 10,000$ for new.

I change my oil every 3k miles 10w - 40 this is about 3 times a year.

I don't know if you have made it to taunton yet but 30-40k miles a year is going to hurt your wallet in fuel bills at £6+ a gallon:eek:

Wish i could get by with that mileage we drive more like a 1k a week on the farm, everthing is so far 72 miles just to get the kid to school everyday. So taunton and the south west things close is ok with me. Walk or ride the horse to town is good enough. or hook up the buggie and drive to town:D

I use 5w/40 fully synthetic still a 40 but gets round the engine quicker especially in cold weather, gives around 3% better fuel economy,
but make sure your rocker cover gasket is tight down :)

10w 40 oil for the UKs temps and it depends on mileage when you change it, that for me will be every two years.

Castrol GTX 10W 40 twice a year....!
Used to like the Green stuff Duckams detergent oil but can't seem to get it anywhere now.
Can't be arsed with all the marketing nonsense for all the new superfandango oil these days as long as it meets the standards required it's good enough.
