Cant see number in normal place dont know if its been removed vehicle on original 59 year chassis...it's a customers car I'm restoring and found this number stamped above lift pump while cleaning any ideas welcome...

possibly a reconditioners number

Vehicle started life in Cornwall then went to Africa/Canaries/Portugal chassis is solid but has had a rear crossmember fitted but I think due to accident damage...engine still has original paint colour..have maintenance notes going back to 85 when it came to Portugal...

number is either a recon number or forgery,fitting recons was popular years back whilst now we do up our engines to keep it original
 
@jamesmartin spent today stripping all balljoints and castellated nuts and shocks...every single one had a nail hammered in instead of a split pin even the one's front and back of the transfer box...luckily customer's attitude is do what you have to do I want it done properly,as he's in UK thank god for smart phones...

lol forgot about that there was a time when you didnt think about buying stuff ahead of a job but used what you had ie nails

Just wish theyd used thinner nails that I could have pulled out not oversized ones hammered in...bloody bush mechanics...took 2 hours to undo propshaft bolts from rear of transfer box and every tool in Barrys snap-on tool cabinates due to wrong nuts fitted and rounded off by previous attempts...should have known where this project was going when I found fuel filter sitting stuck on suspension by chassis rail and the canister empty...

Me I'm back to making chocolate next week now tourists are arriving...but this resto has been a god send to be honest and I am enjoying it...working on my 101 tomorrow sorting fuel system so we can go for a run on Sunday up to the bar to meet friends none of whom have seen it...they dont believe it exists...lol

your 101 is a dream wish it was mine ,though ive just got 2 scrap fergi tractors to make 1 out of for scrap price which im looking forward to this weekend a little different

Used a Massy at Hoptoun Statley Home before I came here ex Aberdeen council it was loved it...hated the Kubuta B2150 hydrostatic the twxt boss bought to replace it...enjoy your new project...

Saw a nice looking 101 on a trailer behind a 110 yesterday.

& the 101 Iv knocked on the door plenty of times has finally been sold...not to me :mad:.
Hope the person that has it now realises the 4.2 will drink that fuel ;)
Seeing more series landys moving round the country on trailers & plenty of galv chassis stacked high.

as for the nails.... the old farmer still uses these.

Might not be wrong size nuts, early series 2 had different size nuts on the rear gbox flange, right rsehole size to work on in such a tight area.
