Hi landy lovers
Was hoping someone may be able to help my non running freelander become a running one?
Last couple of weeks vehicle (freelander td4 05 reg) has failed to start a couple of times but has started after a few attempts. Now stuck on drive with engine malfunction light on turning over but not starting.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Is the under arch fuel pump working?

The engine management light won't go out until the engine is running.

Thanks mate will check will it click as in solenoid running or whirr like an electric pump?
I don't seem to have either!!

It should make a buzzing/whirring sound as it's an electric pump.

Could also be the relay in the engine bay fuse box.

Thanks guys
i have moved back seats and lifted carpet & cover no noise from pump there, is this the one that is supposed to whirr?.
Am wondering if it may be something to do with imobiliser as it has failed to start for the mrs when she has been out but when i go to look unlock the doors with key fob etc it has started straight away. Or am i just talking crap!!

if it turns over, it's unlikely to be the immobiliser. have you tried easy start in the air intake to see if it fires ?

Oh ok does it not work on the fuel cut off?
as for the engine malfunction light i've not seen it lit on the dash before when ignition is on.
im assuming that if i put a test light on my plug connection to the pump under the back seats with the ignition on i should get a live feed ?
wos reckon?
